Intro

‘Encaustic’ is a term referring to paint made from molten beeswax with pigment added. Encaustic paint is the most durable form of painting known, and offers myriad possibilities for color, texture, and collage. Translucent layers of wax “float” on top of each other, giving the paint a unique depth. My encaustic pieces are miniature works of art and often use collage elements such as original linocuts, original photographs, feathers, found objects, handwritten letters, and newspaper. Original cards retail for $20, greeting card prints (box of 10 assorted) retail for $20, and individual prints retail for $7.
